Farris In Motion

At Vatsim-Scandinavia we are now continuing our “In Motion” events, where we take the focus out of our major airports mainly used at VATSIM on a regular basis. This time we are inviting you to Torp-Sandefjord (ENTO) and Rygge (ENRY) situated beneath Farris TMA south of Oslo.

Sandefjord (ENTO) serves as a domestic airport and as a low-cost airport with operators such as Ryanair, Norwegian and Wizz Air. The domestic flights are operated daily by Widerøe and Norwegian.

Rygge airport is owned by the Royal Norwegian Air Force and is a hub for Ryanair where they fly to London-Stanstead, Krakow, Berlin and Rome to mention a few. There are also charter flights departing from the airport to several destinations such as Gran Canaria, Mallorca and Greece.

This event will give you a chance to visit Norway via other airports than just the old Gardermoen, so seize the opportunity to participate in Farris In Motion. Our Norwegian controllers will make sure that your stay in Norway will be an enjoyable one.

Iceland Oceanic Shuttle R

For a long, long time Iceland and Keflavik have been a quite solitary airport regarding the traffic and ATC activity. Now however VATSIM Scandinavia is trying to change this and for some time we’ve seen an increase in ATC activity and traffic movement.

The 26th of January from 16-22z it’s time for an event that was anticipated for a long time, namely Iceland Oceanic Shuttle. Keflavik, Iceland’s largest airport will be fully staffed along with enroute and oceanic controller which will give you an exciting challenge to fly in and out of Iceland as real as it gets.
Along with Keflavik we will also provide excellent staffing at Copenhagen Kastrup during the event to let you fly between Denmark and Iceland.
Make sure you attend this event as this is an unusual occasion where the whole Iceland FIR and OCA will be opened up for business. So whether you are flying from the Nordic countries, from Europe or even from North America it will surely be an interesting and exciting evening for everyone!

Since all flights to/from Iceland are being subject to oceanic clearances/procedures please make sure that you are familiar with the procedures used in the OCA.
Take time and read the documentation provided here and here.
