Tobias Waschle (1602713)
Quote One day in the distant future, we will tell our grandchildren about our trip around the world and will have forgotten ourselves that it was once a simulation. Once upon a time, two Frisians had a big dream: they wanted to fly around the world in their Echo Class airplanes. They both had a passion for flying and wanted to experience the beauty and diversity of the earth from the air. They planned their route carefully and prepared for all kinds of challenges. One day, the time had finally come. They took off from their home airport in Wangerooge and flew south-east. They left Germany behind and flew over south-eastern Europe. Austria, Hungary, Montenegro, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey to the Middle East. They quickly passed Syria, Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain and reached the United Arab Emirates. Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar, China, South Korea, Japan, Russia, USA, Canada, Mexico, Greenland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Norway and Denmark. They saw the highest mountains, the deepest seas, the largest deserts, the greenest forests, the most colorful coral reefs, the oldest cultures, the most modern cities and the friendliest people. They also experienced many adventures and dangers. They had to brave storms, turbulence, insects, technical problems, fuel shortages, flight bans, border controls, thieves, wildlife, disease and more. They helped each other when one was in trouble and shared their joys and sorrows. They learned a lot about the world and themselves. After 6 months, they arrived back on Wangerooge. They were greeted enthusiastically by their families, friends and fans. They had managed to realize their dream. They were heroes, flying around the world in their little airplanes. We're a small VFR VA from Germany (www.friesenflieger.de) and we are going to celebrate the anniversary of our homecoming from the Echo around the world tour. The Frisian Bonfire Anniversary We are looking forward flying the traditional last leg of our tour from EKBI Billund to EDWG Wangerooge. With ATC and of course VFR with echo classes (small GA Aircraft; single engine; up to 2000kg). If you love VFR and want to experience something special, then join us on December 30th at 19:00 - 21:00 zulu from EKBI to EDWG. You are very welcome! There is also an additional Sceenery (MSFS2020) for EDWG: As we always flew in real time and real weather and Wooge is not illuminated and to enable us to land safely in the dark, the Frisians who stayed at home lit lots of campfires around the runway in Wooge. In addition - and this was a well-kept secret - they had prepared fireworks for the evening of December 30th! https://files.friesenflieger.de/downloads/devprops-RunwayFire-EDWG.zip Route: EKBI VP018 EKTD DHE 5352N00808E EDWG Edited December 29, 2023 by Tobias Waschle (1602713)
