Constitution

During 2015/2016 there has been two amendments of VATSIM Scandinavia constitution, where we now have a full working constitution and it´s in correlation with parent organisation VATSIM/VATEUD regulations. Latest amendment concerned:

• Membership database. VATSIM Scandinavia now rely on VATEUD API to service our membership database, where every VATSIM member that chooses ” Europe – Europe (except UK) – Scandinavia vACC/vARTCC” in their VATSIM account automatically becomes our member.
• Visiting Controller requirement. Visiting controllers are required to service as active controller within VATSIM Scandinavia at least 10 hours during latest 6 months to maintain their visiting controller status within VATSIM Scandinavia.

TAS Training Administration System

From this week VATSIM Scandinavia uses TAS to administrate training requests during al stages of the training requests "life". TAS is purpose build system to handle the process of training requests and already during it´s beta stages shown it´s value in safeguarding content (training request´s) and efficiency, mostly for Training Director and Training Assistants.

With TAS VATSIM Scandinavia ensures efficiency and transparency towards ATC students, as students is able to see their own training request/status/training reports automatically and also receive internally or externally (via registered VATSIM email account) status changes and messages.

The work with TAS started about september 2015 and to my knowledge consist of at least 20 000 rows of code and more code is written almost every day. I can´t express enough gratitude to our Web Service Director Peter Persson, regarding the work he has done and still doing on TAS. As TAS is modular, any feedback and thoughts of enhancement of TAS is much appreciated from students/mentors/Training Assistants via email mentioned on TAS.

Pilot Coordinator

During the process of latest amendments of constitution VATSIM Scandinavia had an survey to hear opinions from members. One clear indication was that the pilot services needed more attention.

As of this week VATSIM Scandinavia have new staff position as Pilot Coordinator ACCSCA14 pilot[at]vatsim-scandinavia.org.
