It's checkout week in Finland for the third time in a row when Henri Lapinniemi takes the hot seat on Helsinki Tower on Thursday the 8th of December at 18-21z (20-23lt) to prove the examiner he's got what it takes to earn his S2 rating and become a Tower controller. To do so he needs your help – any traffic, be it IFR or VFR, is greatly appreciated and needed for a successful checkout. There won't be a lack of supporting ATC as the weekly Helsinki in Sight event takes place simultaneously with Tampere Radar providing service for the entire Finland – perhaps fly a hop to Rovaniemi for a quick practice for Fly and See Santa? Malmi Airport is also open for business and waiting for VFR traffic for some city sightseeing or circuits.
Welcome to Helsinki!
