What is Copenhagen LIVE?

It is the yearly event, organized by VATSIM-Scandinavia where 20+ controller from Scandinavia gathers in Copenhagen to provide 16 hour of non-stop full service ATC. It is a social event spanning from Friday to Sunday, in Copenhagen.

It is always the same time each year?

Normally Yes. It is the second weekend of September

I want to fly there. Is there anything I need to know?

Yes! You gotta read the briefings for Copenhagen that can be found under the "Briefing" tab of CPH LIVE 2023. Having a scenery is a must. Especially in Xplane 12 as the default airports does not line up with the real airport.

Consider the use of FlyTampa Copenhagen as it is currently the most precise scenery on the market

I am a beginner. Is Copenhagen LIVE too complicated?

Most likely yes! You should have some practice before flying into CPH LIVE. At least try to stay away from peak hours. You must be proficient with your airplane, knowing how to fly holdings, read charts, and keep your head cold when it gets stressful.

Will holdings be used?

Yes! Bring plenty of extra fuel

Will other airports be staffed as well?

Yes! Both Billund (EKBI) and Aalborg (EKYT) will be fully staffed as well for the whole day! Check "Inspiration" page for airlines servicing the route

Should I be aware of anything flight-planning wise?

Yes!

Plan ESMS as alternate if coming from the east or southeast,

Plan EKBI as alternate coming from southwest, west and north. Bring enough fuel

I want to enroll in a competition. How do I do that?

Book your flight and perform it via booking.vatsim-scandinavia.org and it will automatically enroll into the competition
