Bruno Audoux
On Thursday 12 January, both the Humanit’Air v.a. and the French vACC VATFRANCE have started a long trip that will lead to Unalakleet (PAUN) in Alaska. Around 25 pilots have already flown from Clermont-Ferrand (LFLC) to Rennes (LFRN), then to Cardiff (EGFF), Shannon (EINN), Islay (EGPA and Kirkwall (EGPI) with only small aircraft ranging from C172 to DHC6. The Visual Flight Rules shall apply as long as Mister Met allows. One P8 Poseidon recognizes each leg and provides PIREPS and maritime rescue support. One C17 from Humanit’Air provides the logistic support… One flight is schedule to occur every Thursday between 19:30Z and 22:00Z and the stop scheduled at Vagar (EKVG) is confrmed on Thursday 16 February. The departure towards Iceland is planned on the following Thursday. Of course, we really would appreciate if some ATC are available at, and around, each departing and destination airfields… All pilots are welcome to join us on our way...
