Hi Juha,

Is it possible for the AHDG tag item to be updated to not display a waypoint in which an aircraft has been instructed to route towards?

At the moment, if an aircraft has an assigned direct, it can be cleared with a right click. Instead, if an aircraft has no assigned HDG irrelevant of whether a direct has been given or not, can that item be left as "AHDG". With that then freeing up the "right click", could a right click on "AHDG" input "H" to signify the aircraft has been instructed to fly present heading? I am aware however, that this might create problems as the right click is meant for clearing that field of any inputted instructions.

It's possible but somewhat complicated. Sometimes the field should display the point (when it was set using the AHDG menu "Point" option or the heading vector), other times not. Currently there is no information stored on how the assignment was made. Communicating extra information like this to other controllers is a bit difficult to achieve reliably but perhaps it would be enough to store it locally, other controllers are likely not interested in how a direct-to assignment was made.

The "present heading" instruction could probably be implemented as setting the current heading value as the assigned heading, followed by a broadcast that lets compatible plugins know that the assignment is actually a present heading command. Other plugins, compatible plugins not in range when the assignment was made and vanilla ES users would see only the heading assignment but it would be a correct heading. The right click would only assign present heading when the field was empty to start with ("AHDG" displayed) so it wouldn't cause conflicts.

I think I understand the explanation. Would be great if you could take a look to see in theory if it would work.
