[VACANT POSITION] Training Assistant Norway

Norway is looking for a helping hands with managing the training in our FIR. We encourage all interested people to report interest.

Formal requirements

• Must have been a member of VATSIM Scandinavia for at least one month
• Have a good standing in VATSIM Scandinavia
• Hold an S2 rating on VATSIM for more than 3 months, higher rating preferred

Expectations

What we expect from you

• Are willing to commit and spend time and effort on making sure that our training is:
  • Running smoothly and strive to maintain our professional and high quality standards and;
  • Challenge changes that attempt to disrupt this.
• Keep confidential information to yourself regarding students, applications and personalia.
• Initially use some extra time to understand the formal requirements from VATSIM and VATEUD for our training programmes.

What you can expect from us

• State of the art training management system to ease your tasks.
• Support from Norway FIR Director for FIR-related questions and decisions.
• Mentors who also strive for a high quality training in Norway FIR and can help with discussions.

Tasks

Have in mind that there is usually two training assistants splitting these tasks, so you're not completely alone with these tasks.

Ensure a smooth training flow for students and mentor

• Assign new students to available mentors
• Follow up stalled trainings
• Schedule exams for students
• Be available for questions and small tasks from mentors, such as granting endorsements, theory exams etc.
• Be available on email to answer questions from members regarding training
• Ensure enough mentors for different ratings by also qualifying mentors/examiners to train/exam higher ratings.

Maintaining the training curriculum

• Keeping the Wiki and Moodle content up to date, together with mentors and Norway FIR director
• Distributing responsibility to mentors to keep specific content up to date
