EKBI – Billund Airport

Background information

Billund airport is the second largest airport in Denmark, and founded by LEGO owner Ole Kirk Kristiansen back in 1961. Previously a cargo airport for Lego, it has now developed into a large mid-sized airports featuring various airlines & Cargo operations. It is serving the largest part of Jutland, and is home to airliens such as Danish Air Transport and Sun Air of Scandinavia. It is serving a lot of legacy and low-cost airlines, so almost no matter your destination Billund can be paired

Operational Information

 

Remember EKDK_CTR still controls Billund if local ATC is offline

 

Begin you flight at:

 

Make sure you have the correct SID for your departure

Pushback & Taxi:

 

Pushback can be advised own discretion at Billund. Listen to the controller. A push in either direction including straight pushback is allowed.

 

Expect Departure 09 or 27 depending on wind. 09 may be given with tailwind if requested for short taxi time. No specific taxi routes.

 

Taxiway F may be used for departure intersection 09, however intersection M on runway 27 is not allowed for Medium aircraft or larger

 

Departure:

When airborne passing 1500’ you must AUTOMATICALLY switch to EKBI_APP if online or EKDK_CTR if local ATC is not online.

 

Arrival:

Expect clearance direct to following points:

 

LOKSA, UVINA,ODNEV (rwy 27)

GELBA, EPARA, GIVNA (rwy 09)

 

Expect Vectors to final approach, or direct intercept from one of the above points.

 

Landing:

After landing vacate:

 

•   Rwy 27:

o   Right via F if PAX

o   Left via B or C if VFR or CARGO only!

• Rwy 09

o   Left via M or K for any aircraft
